Traditional food of Hampi, served on a Banana Leaf

Though primarily a vegetarian place, non-vegetarian food can also be found. The vegetarian south Indian traditional cuisine is delicious, and perhaps more advised than non-veg since Hampi is so warm.Consumption of alcohol is frowned upon among the locals since Hampi is a temple town. But if you are staying in a private residence or resort, you may find out their policies and carry yourown drinks, which you can buy in the local grog shops. Good quality alcohol is not likely to be available anywhere except in five-starhotelsand may even find a few shops selling alcohol
