A typical Rajasthani meal

Rajasthan boasts a wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The meals are most dry owing to the desert conditions, and warm and hearty to combat cold desert nights. Breakfasts usually consist of roti (flat Indian bread) accompanied with Chai (tea). Daal Bati Churma is one of the most famous dishes of this region. Desserts include traditional Sheera, Ghewar and Boondhi (rich sweets made from Ghee) and are made on special occasions.
