Backwaters of Kerala

Kerala, or ‘God’s own country’, is a state on the Southwestern Malabar coast of India. It is bordered byKarnataka in the North and Northeast, Tamil Nadu inthe east and the Lakshadweep Sea in the west.

The name Kerala is derived from the Malayalam word ‘Kera’ which means coconut tree.The name literally translates to ‘Land of Coconut Trees’.

This state is known for its palm lined beaches, backwaters and network of inland canals. It is also home to wild animals and exotic birds and vibrant traditions like Temple festivals and Snake boat races.
