Jaipur for First-Timers: 1 day

OVERVIEW

Jaipur is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan in Northern India. The city is a major tourist destination and forms the third corner of the traveller’s Golden Triangle (Delhi-Agra-Jaipur). The city is rich in history, local culture, architecture, and is well known for its jewellery, furniture and textile craft. Sample Program:

• Start tour at 9 am

• Start with a photo stop at the beautiful Hawa Mahal that looks magnificent in the morning sunlight

• Visit the Observatory – Jantar Mantar which is considered to be the largest of the five observatories and also houses the world’s largest sundial

• Visit the City Palace, which includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings. It was the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. A part of City Palace is converted into a museum. Royal attires, a collection of manuscripts, two large silver vessels (Perhaps the biggest in the world) and armouries are added attraction of the museum

• Lunch in city palace (recommended) or you will be advised by the guide if you'd like cheaper options

• Visit the royal crematorium

• Walk around in the beautiful bazaars of the walled pink city.

• 3 pm arrive at ELEFANTASTIC

• Spend rest of the daylight hours with elephants including dinner

 

 

Second Day in Jaipur

Sample Program:

• Breakfast at hotel
Start tour from the hotel at 9 in the morning

• Drive through the bustling pink city while the guide talks to you about life here and explained what was once considered one of the best-planned cities in the world.

• Visit Amer Fort which stood the test of time and guarded itself against invasions, one of the most imposing forts of India.

• The fort entrance is reached by walking up the hill, going in the car or taking a lurching elephant ride
Lunch: RECOMMENDED: Amer fort if you'd like it early, or another old palace if you'd like it later. For cheaper options, the guide will advise you.

• Visit the Anokhi museum in Amer town

• Drive past Jal Mahal on the way back with a stopover to take pictures (it is not possible to go into Jal Mahal)

• Farmhouse dinner with the guide
